Good start with the IAR; I'd encourage you to work on being a bit more specific about what strategies you identify in the text:
1) With invention, what types of research did Smitherman need to do? What is her position? More specifically, who did she talk to and what in the text give you this impression?
2)Your arrangement responses are not quite sufficient and too general right now. She's not just talking about Black people, right? She's talking about patterns in Black speech which is different from just talking about Black people. Where in the text does she talk about environment? What type of environment? What is being put in relationship to what? (e.g. BE to WE)
And what types of arrangement relationships occur in the text? I'm not sure what you mean by linking how we talk; who's "we"? Please review the arrangement relationships we've discussed in class.
You're doing quite well identifying the invention and revision strategies. For your next IAR analysis I'd encourage you to work more with arrangment
